Truth may be stranger than fiction but fiction can be scarier
than truth. Watching the news in the
evening can be downright depressing or at the least a bit surreal. The fear of the unknown like illness, loss or
delayed in income, unemployment and the inability to pay bills are just a few
things that people have on their minds right now. There is a tendency for some to hide their
heads in the sand, but we will survive as long as we keep moving forward… even
if it is baby steps.
There are a few things you can do right now to help minimize
your financial difficulties like making a plan and not being afraid to call
lenders/companies and work out alternate payment plans. We are all in this fight together and there
are companies that will work with you to ease the pain. This is a “new normal” that we are all being
faced with. Continue to stay up-to-date
and informed. Be sure to research what
is being put on social media and be willing to adapt. The more you know, the more you can control
the outcome and achieve the goals you have for the future.
Here are a couple of advantages that you should know if you
are wanting to list or buy a home right now:
Advantages of listing
your Home in today’s Market
- · Several examples of "plateaus" in the news means there is light at the end of the tunnel.
- · Real Estate experts say that when "this" is over there will be a surge in buying/selling
- · when "this" is over there will be high demand for photographers, stagers, agents to get into homes prep for listing - those already listed will have an advantage/head start on the market
- · Day’s on the Market (DOM) is a mute issue right now because everyone know it doesn't reflect interest in the home but consequence of shelter in place/shutdown
- · the buyers who are looking are serious buyers - people aren't out casually looking at houses, those looking are in the market to buy
- · less foot traffic but more "iTraffic" - people are spending time online looking for houses
Advantages of Buying
a Home in today’s Market
- · Less competition for homes - buyers are less likely to miss the house they really want to someone else
- · sellers are motivated to sell - they may have seen less foot traffic and will be more open to offers
- · this is the perfect time to get pre-qualified and ready to make an offer (I have list of lenders who will do this online/over the phone)
- · So many virtual showings and walk through are available buyers can narrow down listings to the ones they really want to see and schedule showings only for top selections- saves time (my app and website are great for home searches)
